In an ELECTRO DISCHARGE GEAR DEBURRING MACHINE a Component Gear is meshed and run with its Mating Gear and set to a specific designed centre distance of assembly with designed backlash to ensure single flank contact. High Intensity and low voltage current is then passed through the gear pair while rotation at set speed. The High intensity current burns off the high spots. The meshing gears are then run in reverse direction to ensure high spot removal on the second flank.
