In an GEAR NOISE TESTER a Component Gear is meshed and run with its Mating Gear and set to a specific designed centre distance of assembly with designed backlash to ensure single flank contact. The machine has an acoustic canopy with a microphone mounted at a suitable position on the Meshing gears. The operator can hear the Gear noise through a headphone provision mounted outside the machine
