Leakage testers are customised testing machines built to Test different units for Leakage.
TEST METHODS :
Water Dip Method – In this method, the unit under test is pressurised to a set value and then dipped in a water tank to manually observe leakages if any. Any leakage will result in bubbles and indicate the point of leakage. This method is generally used in Plastic moulded tanks used in vehicles for coolants, oil etc
Mass Flow method: In this method, Stabilized air reservoir is connected to the unit under test. In case of any leakage, air flows from the air reservoir to the Unit under test. This flow is measured through high precision Mass flow meters. The value of Air flow decides the OK/NOK Status of the component leak. These machines use a specially developed high end data acquisition systems for pressure, air flow etc and have a digital display of Air flow , pressure and OK/NOK status of the unit tested. This method is widely used in Components manufactured out of casting like Turbo chargers, cylinder blocks etc.
Pressure Differential Method: In this method, a Master Component with the same volume as the Unit under test is pressurised independently. Simultaneously, the unit under test is also pressurised. These two components are then connected to each other. In case of leak, the pressure in the Master component also drops along with the Unit under test. This drop in pressure is measure and interpreted in terms of leakage.
This method is widely used in Components manufactured out of casting like Turbo chargers, cylinder blocks etc.
UBIQUE SYSTEMS manufactures LEAKAGE TESTERS based on all 3 methods mentioned above.
